Six carefully chosen pieces, edited with love, care and attention
Based between in Barcelona — Launched in 2026 — Husband and wife team Joe and his wife have released the first collection from their new brand, Half Dozen: six pieces carefully chosen for timeless style and easy wear in any wardrobe. Each piece is edited using natural dyeing techniques and the addition of a detail which (or may not) go unnoticed. In a world already full of stuff, Half Dozen isn't here to add more of it carelessly.
The idea for Half Dozen began nearly eight years ago, when Joe was working as a shoemaker and he and his wife first talked about starting a brand of their own. Wanting a name that sounded distinctly British, they settled on Half Dozen — a name that also gave them a simple, flexible structure to build around: six styles, six colours, six releases a year.
Eight years and two children later, the couple — now based in Barcelona — have finally brought that idea to life. Joe has always had a sharp eye for style, and his wife brings over 25 years of industry experience to the brand. Increasingly conscious of how much unnecessary "stuff" the world already has, and drawn to his own passion for sourcing clothing, Joe began building a collection of vintage and curated pieces from across Europe, each one chosen for its enduring style.
Always drawn to craft and getting his hands dirty, Joe took on the process of editing the jackets himself. Through trial and error, dyeing in batches of six turned out to be exactly the right number — a detail that shaped the rhythm of the brand as much as its name did. Half Dozen has now released its first collection, with plans to launch a new curated set of six pieces every two months.
"I love the idea of editing what already exists," says Joe. "There's so much good stuff out there already. The endless digging I find really exciting, and I treat it like a game — to see what I can find and how I can elevate it and give it a new context."
